Wildaluz V. Eidson
(October 14, 1936 – July 17, 2011)

After one year of surviving pancreatic cancer, God’s angels lifted 74 year old Wilda Eidson to live eternally with Him in his Kingdom.  In every facet of her life Wilda lived as a Christian, true to the Lord.  She epitomized grace and beauty radiating from the inside out.

Born in Agno Pangasinan, Philippines, Wilda was a Filipino immigrant who survived World War II.  In 1946, as the eldest of 5 siblings, her parents, Laureno Pacis and Loreto Navidad Vergara sent her to Hawaii (a US Territory at the time) for a better life.

As valedictorian of Ka’U  High School in Pahala, Hawaii, Wilda graduated in 1955.  Wilda then went to nursing school at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.  She finished her residency in Los Angeles, California where she met her husband to be, William P. Eidson.  They were married for 48 years before Bill passed.  Wilda is survived by her daughters Teresa and Billie Eidson.

As a registered nurse of over forty years, Wilda had a passion for nursing.  Throughout her nursing career she worked at St. Charles Medical Center as an operating room nurse, as the supervisor of the operating room and as a member of the heart team; she was selected to participate as a member of the medical team volunteering medical care in Guatemala; and completed her career working as a registered nurse at Bend Surgery Center.

Among Wilda’s many hobbies, she enjoyed playing classical music on her grand piano, reading, crocheting, knitting and cooking.   Her friends called her an inspiration.  Her pastor said she lived the holy life of a saint.  Her husband knew her as his love, his wife, his life.  Her daughters knew her as an angel.

Wilda was cremated at Deschutes Memorial Gardens.  A celebration of Wilda’s life will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2011 between 1:00 pm – 3:00pm at First Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2119 SE Reed Market Rd., Bend, OR 97701.  The family invites all who knew Wilda to come and share their most memorable stories and share in the celebration of her Christian life.  In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Keep the Memory Alive: Wilda’s Hope. Donations can be made by visiting her website at; http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/wildaeidson/wildashope, making a donation by phone, 1-877-272-6226 or sending a personal check to; Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, c/o Wildaluz Eidson,National Headquarters,1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200 Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.

Mother's Day

My daughters treated me and my two girlfriends, Marianne & Pauline, to a delicious brunch at the Pine Tavern.  The selection was bountiful and needless to say I am FULL and preparing for a mid-afternoon nap.
